On 30 March 2019, the TU Darmstadt Chamber Orchestra played in the Grote Kerk of Alkmaar, together with city organist Pieter van Dijk. Listeners were able to enjoy a wonderful repertoire by composers such as Handel and Bach. Not only did the organ and orchestra play together; the orchestra itself also played in full ensemble, with a wind ensemble. After the concert, dinner was enjoyed at the Gulden Vlies, together with the board of the AUC. On Sunday, a boat tour was scheduled, allowing our German guests to get to know the city well.
We thank the TU Darmstadt Chamber Orchestra for coming to Alkmaar. The AUC has wholeheartedly supported this exchange, and hopes that the music will bring much beauty to our sister cities.
