The Alkmaars Exchange Committee (AUC) looks back with great pleasure on a successful 2023 to which many Alkmaars organizations have contributed. In the context of 450 years of Alkmaar's dismay and the fact that both the city link with Darmstadt and that with Troyes existed for 65 years, the AUC invited delegations from the five partner cities for a long weekend in Alkmaar in October. During this weekend, a seminar on sustainable contacts was organized in collaboration with the VNG.
The Tree of Freedom was also planted in Victoria Park. In addition to a cultural program, the delegation from Bath also visited Hortus Alkmaar to establish contacts with nature and environmental protection organizations in Bath. The visit was a great opportunity to renew contacts and discuss new plans for the coming years.
Overview 2023
Over the past year, 21 exchanges took place, in which more than 200 people took part. This included schools, sports clubs, music clubs and administrative organisations. SEE ALSO US overview 2023.
