A group of 27 students and 3 teachers from Alkmaar's Hungarian sister city Tata was visiting the Murmellius Gymnasium in Alkmaar from Saturday 16 to Friday 22 March. The pupils were officially received at the town hall on Monday 18 March.
The Murmellius Gymnasium has maintained contacts with the Eötvös József Gimnázium since 1993. Until 2020, there was an annual exchange between both gymnasia. One year the Alkmaar students went on a trip, the other year the students from Tata came to Alkmaar. After that, corona came and put an end to this annual event. Half a year ago, the ties were tightened again and with this visit of the Hungarian pupils to Alkmaar, the exchange program has started again (photo Jan Jong photography).
