The link between Alkmaar and Bath will be 80 years old next year. As part of this anniversary, our committee is looking for (old) photos of exchanges with Bath. In addition to photos, there are stories, program books, newspaper reports, etc. also welcome.
In 2025, this urban band will be 80 years old and before that, various exchanges are already planned in the field of sports, education, culture and knowledge sharing. As part of this special anniversary, the AUC is looking for (old) photos of exchanges with Bath, but also for Stories, program books, newspaper reports, etc. Together with Bata (Bath-Alkmaar Twinning Association), an attempt is made to get as complete a picture as possible of the exchanges of the past 80 years. What was it like again?
The Alkmaarder Eli Prins fled our city on 15 May 1940. He literally jumped on the last boat to England in IJmuiden, settled in Bath and put Alkmaar on the map there through lectures and fundraising campaigns. Immediately after the war, Bath and Alkmaar formed an official – and the first International – City Band, which is still thriving.
Tata City Association is 40 years old
Tata will also celebrate an anniversary next year. The city relationship with Tata then exists for 40 years. More information about the festivities will follow later.
